    Clients have different look of message typing box and buttons. Attach file on left or right, smiles, stickers etc. It would be great to rethink and provide guidance.

    The problem is that TG, WhatsApp and FB messenger also have a different layout

    More seriously, I don't think its the role of Modern XMPP say how things should be put in the UI/UX of the clients, its too specific

    Well, the project was started specifically to give UI/UX guidelines :)

    But I agree the goal shouldn't be to have every client look 100% like every other client

    Yes but more about naming conventions and general ideas

    Indeed its good to have a Group being a Group and a Channel being a Channel

    But I'd be against guidelines to tell me where i need to put my file icon :p

    No, it's definitely not only about naming things

    For me it looks like the current layout is just random

    But that is a large part of what currently exists

    But it may be adapted for mobile typing

    I think it would be easy to negotiate some order for most clients
