  1. saf

I'd like to ask about nicknames in GC3 with XEP-0172. If nicknames are handled using XEP-0172, what will the resource part of the JID be used for? Could it be used as a unique ID?

  2. Squeaky Latex Folf

What is GC3 and where do I find its definition?

  3. Squeaky Latex Folf

Searching in this MUC's history I see GC3 is a MUC successor?

  4. Squeaky Latex Folf

Wasn't MIX supposed to be that? Is GC3 related to MIX, completely different from MIX, the successor to MIX, or something different?

  5. Zash

GC3 is meant to be a smaller evolution of MUC, whereas MIX was a complete from scratch new thing that would require that every single software implemented new things.

  6. Squeaky Latex Folf

    Huh

  7. Squeaky Latex Folf

Where can I find GC3 specifications?

  8. Zash

    That I do not know

  9. MattJ

saf: in GC3 the resource is the occupant id (from XEP-0421)

  10. MattJ

Squeaky Latex Folf: no GC3 spec has been submitted yet

  11. saf

    > saf: in GC3 the resource is the occupant id (from XEP-0421) good

  12. Squeaky Latex Folf

    > saf: in GC3 the resource is the occupant id (from XEP-0421) Finally. Justice.

  13. Squeaky Latex Folf

But what about the nicks? Can they be the same for different JIDs in GC3?

  14. MattJ

Yes, if the implementation and deployment permit that

  15. Squeaky Latex Folf

    That'd be weird

  16. Zash

But backwards compatibility with MUC would block it, no?

  17. MattJ

Those services can either drop MUC compat or mangle MUC nicks

  18. un-lucky

Which is the best uncensored AI model?

  19. MattJ

un-lucky: nothing to do with the topic of this channel. I'd be surprised if there isn't an XMPP channel related to AI that you could find.

  20. Squeaky Latex Folf

They sent that in multiple MUCs it seems
