    do you all have any plans for more "beautiful" display names? in both 1:1 and groupchats

    e.g. decouple it from the JID, and make nicks accept random stuff like emojis and so on

    You can be really creative with nicks. Probably all Unicode characters are supported, as I see some Japanese, and Arabic? people here

    but emojis aren't so it's kinda limited to some subset

    99% of emoji in nicks on social networks are flags. This would be just another annoying. But maybe kids will love it.
