Years pass, editing messages except the last is still dysfunctional across clients on XMPP

Works as intended actually.

This morning (and others) I notice that all my MUC unread counters in Gajim don't take into account what I've read earlier this morning from my mobile (Monocles). Is this a known UX problem with no server/xep standardization to solve for or more likely one of my client's not properly implementing an existing standard?✎ -

Is this a known UX problem with no server/xep standardization to solve for or more likely one of my client's not properly implementing an existing standard? To be clear, the messages are syncing properly, just the read/unread state of the messages are not it seems. ✏

It's not yet implemented in gajim

hmm? I mean if you say so it is probably true, but I am pretty sure there was a release claiming that the message read syncronisation is now supported in Gajim.

Kris
but I am having issues with that myself and wrote it down to Cheogram maybe not having backported that stuff from Conversations yet.

Kris
curiouser, it's a fairly new XEP: https://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0490.html that not many clients support yet

lovetox: this suggest it's been implemented in gajim for some time https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/gajim/-/issues/11785

I think that is only for when you open and close the client with unread messages
