  1. waffles

    So what does domain_pubsub do

  2. jjj333_p (any pronouns)

    > if i decide to use a prosidy docker image do u know any good ones waffles, you could also consider snikket server which seems to be an all in one prosody

  3. jjj333_p (any pronouns)

depends on if you want to still manage prosody or just kinda plug and play i think?

  4. waffles

Weve considered it but may end up cannibalizing their config

  5. waffles

Were looking into best practices rn

  6. waffles

Do u think their config is pretty good for that

  7. jjj333_p (any pronouns)

its probably a config that works good for all the things they have set up in the docker

  8. jjj333_p (any pronouns)

but many things in the config depend on the environment youre putting the server in

  9. waffles

Yeah were definitely going with docker on a Ubuntu server

  10. waffles

It'll be on a cheap VPS for now

  11. jjj333_p (any pronouns)

thats fine, prosody can practically run on a potato clock

  12. waffles

Documentation will be a huge one cause were probably gonna nerd out and write our own docs

  13. waffles

This is a private server but for our sysadmins sake we want them to be able to quickly debug

  14. waffles

How configurable is snikket I think we need a few modules but if they have good security that'd be a good step

waffles: if configurability is at all important to you, Prosody is a better option than Snikket. Snikket is designed for people who don't want to do their own configuration and maintenance.

  18. waffles

Yeah that's what I'm gonna work on

  19. waffles

I've setup a docker container with prosody running but I can't connect to my MUC!

  20. Menel

You muc component ist hosted at your prosody docker too?
