In any case, here's what I like to see in A11Y XMPP apps: shortcuts for focusing roster, chat log, chat input. Ability to scroll through log on per-message basis using keyboard. Context menus accessible from the keyboard.

And every such interaction MUST be fully usable from a screen reader with your eyes closed

Accessibility is definitely within the scope of the project. However, you are right that most of it is general stuff that would apply to all UIs. In most cases I think we'd want to point developers to relevant existing resources, rather than try to create our own accessibility guidelines.

In some cases there may be XMPP-specific stuff worth documenting, and I think it's a good place for that
