    has anyone thought about some (maybe OIDC based) login mechanism that works by scanning a QR code with a different device, or maybe XEP-0070 to validate a login?

    No spec or implementation yet though

    But I'm fairly sure I described this use case in my FOSDEM talk about SASL2/FAST/etc.
