Louis, https://cheogram.com/ provides bridges between XMPP and various things, including the phone network. To bridge to the phone network you need to purchase a compatible phone number though. Most people use https://jmp.chat/ which is run by the same people that operate Cheogram, but it currently only provides US/Canada phone numbers. For numbers in other countries you'd have to use something like Vonage or Twilio.

There is a practical difference, since the Cheogram app integrates with the Android dialer, which makes it like a normal phone call

As in the spirit of self hosting, that shall be there somewhere, otherwise Cheogram beginners centralized project that other people can't scale themselves.

    > There is a practical difference, since the Cheogram app integrates with the Android dialer, which makes it like a normal phone call How does it integrate? I can't see any option on my Japanese Sharp phone.

  5. Louis

I would like to see integration like being able to send same message as SMS automatically from application, or sending it as email automatically if person had email address in the contact book.

  6. Louis

And also choosing between sender number, maybe it is local number, maybe Twilio, or other SIM card.

    When file upload e io

  8. Louis

When file upload works, one can share URL to other communication lines like SMS, but it would be good to be able to share URL to the XMPP message.

  9. Louis

    That is what Telegram does.

  10. Louis

I would like to be able to communicate with customers straight from website without registration, through XMPP, that they can click and contact me through web interface without user registration, does that exist anywhere?

In prosody if you set it up. Your clients chooses whether to show you a preview or the url
