Any action on getting all xmpp clients on the same line

Supporting at least same basic features

OMEMO included

drina: there is a periodically updated "compliance suite", listing good-to-support XEPs. It even has e. g. a distinct mobile profile (a set of features essential on mobiles, but not so much on stationary hosts)

What are stationary hosts?

Desktop machines?

Oh ok

But laptops are also mobile devices, so e.g. mobile network/battery optimizations are relevant for desktop clients as well 😉

And even the actual stationary tower machines may benefit from lowered network and power usage

drina, are there specific features missing in XMPP clients you care about?

Well first all should be functional, gajim for example have a lots of bugs, from my experience. OMEMO should be supported and default for 1on1 chats.

MattJ: yaxim and Xabber don't do OMEMO, for example. Jingle support is rather incomplete across the board (file transfers through it are rarely supported, and many clients don't implement it at all)

I mean I have lots of issues with gajim and dino, that was not my original point just a rant

In my experience practically all software has bugs. Plenty of people still use Gajim (and other software) daily. Most bugs do not affect most people, and I don't think Gajim has any bugs that make it unusable.

Yeah, also UI is kinda shitty for them. But that has nothing to do with XMPP, altough it kinda has

Conversations is best experience IMO

What version of Gajim did you try?
