I had thoughts about XEP-0420's <rpad/> element. Broadly: maybe traffic analysis would be more hampered if the <content/> element was always padded to one of a few specific lengths (e.g., powers of 2).

If anyone's interested, I might be able to find time to look at this from an information-theoretic point of view, but I'd need an idea of the distribution of lengths <content/> elements would be likely to be without padding. My own XMPP server is probably too small (family-only, pretty much) to gather any reliable statistics on this, though.
